「沿志奏逢」のジャケットとアンディ・ウォーホール
一つ前に記事で取り上げた小林武史と櫻井和寿が中心となって出したチャリティーアルバム「
それは、「ベルベット・アンダーグラウンドの、あの有名なバナナのジャケット。手掛けたのは、アンディ・ウォーホール。」というのだけれど、私は知りませんでした。
もちろん、アンディ・ウォーホールがポップアートの偉い人、という位の事は知っています。でも、思い出せる作品は、マリリンモンローのこれ、
Andy WarholMarilin Monroeアンディ・ウォーホルマリリン・モンロー
位なもの。
ベルベット・アンダーグラウンドが、ロックシーンに様々な影響を及ぼす事になるバンドであったという事も、恥ずかしながら、今回、初めて、知った次第です。なる程、探してみたら、有名なだけの事はあります、あっさり、見つかりました。

オリジナルのレコードジャケットは、バナナの部分がシールになっていて、それを剥がすと、別の物が現れる仕掛けになっていたそうです。
で、rakutenでこんなおもちゃも見つけてしまいました。

おお、確かに似ている。
アートディレクターとの打ち合わせの時に、たまたま出た小林武史さんの家庭菜園で成ったキュウリの話が発展して、このデザインになったのだとか。バナナをキュウリに置き換える事によって、1967年のオリジナルとは異なる2004年なりの時代性、メッセージ性が込められている・・・らしいです。
それにしても、キュウリの花って、こんな風に咲くんですか。なかなか、風情のあるもんですね。そう言えば、今年の夏、知人の家(東京のマンションの四階)のベランダで、西瓜の種を蒔いて放ったらかしにしてたら、プチトマトみたいなスイカの実が生ったそうです。過去にこんな例は、なく、これは、記録的な猛暑のせいじゃないかと言ってました。
もし、今年が冷夏だったら。小林武史さんの家庭菜園キュウリの花も咲かなくて、そうしたら、このアルバムジャケットも違うデザインになっていたのでしょうか。
